You should always try to manage your schedule, especially if you have a full day ahead of you. If you organize and prioritize your actions in a To-do list, you can make sure that you won't forget an important task. Based on David Allen's popular GTD (Getting Things Done) method, GTD-Free gives you the possibility of organizing numerous tasks, in separate lists, queue them, set up priorities and reminders and much more.

As the name suggests, the software is free. It is written in Java, so you can use it on Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and any other operating systems, if it provides support for Java 1.6 or higher. You don't have to go through an installation process before using GTD-Free. All you have to do is download and run its 5.75 MB executable.

The software's core functions are organized on several tabs, on which you may create new tasks, process, organize and execute them. To create a new task, you just need to type its name and click an Add button. Once you create a task, the software will add it to a default category automatically, but you can send it to a category of your choice, on a different tab.

You may create your own categories and populate them with tasks, by clicking and dragging one or more items from one place to another. If you select the Process tab, you will find everything you need to schedule individual tasks for specific days, assign them to projects or add URLs.

GTD-Free gives you the possibility of creating numerous tasks, for multiple projects. You can send individual tasks to a queue, by clicking a button, next to their entries. Instead of browsing through a large number of tasks, from different projects, you can bring up the queue, which can be found on its own tab and see which tasks require your immediate attention. When you are done with a specific task, you can mark it as complete and remove it from the queue, with a single click.

Pros

You can define numerous tasks and queue the ones that need your immediate attention. The software allows you to categorize and prioritize tasks, assign URLs to individual items and set up reminders. GTD-Free is compatible with any operating system that supports Java and it doesn't need to be installed.

Cons

The software is not very flexible when it comes to scheduling reminders. GTD-Free provides you with everything you need to organize your actions properly and become more efficient.
